My son has been taking lessons for over a year now and can play approximately 40 songs, most of which are from memory. He’s learning classical (which is his favorite), jazz(which is my favorite), and traditional music, along with learning how to accompany and transpose the key in which a song is played. My son is only 9 years old. As I participate with him and see what he’s learning I recognize the wisdom in the order of the songs being taught and how it will help him in the future.
